It's All About the Kids This Week

This week I found yummy new fabric for kids in our stores including one that everyone will be glad to see!

Let's start with our fabulous new Pure Organics collection from Robert Kaufman. Just when you thought fabric couldn't get any better, now we can offer you solid quilting cottons in 100% Organic Cotton! I picked a few summery shades and some basics to show here. You'll find over 12 different colors at our Northgate and Puyallup stores right now and you can expect them to arrive soon at Everett and Bellevue, too. Deliciously lovely for you, your quilts and espeicially nice for babies and children!

So cute!!! Playdate from Michael Miller Fabrics is whimsical, fun and bright - everything you want when you're sewing for children. Chinese Lanterns, Pixie Sticks and Paper Dolls you can really cut out combine to make a fresh, perky collection of prints ready to stitch into something the kids in your life will treasure! Available at Bellevue, Northgate and Puyallup and arriving soon at Everett.

Our Christmas in July events (do you have your tickets?) are beginning this week and Christmas fabrics have been pouring in the doors. This week's addition is Colorful Christmas Flannel from Alpine Fabrics. Cozy-soft and festive, the fun scattered mitten and kids prints coordinate perfectly with the stripes, flakes and dots we chose. It's a great time to start on that Christmas sewing! Available at Bellevue, Everett, Northgate and Puyallup.

Hey Quilters! We've Got New Fabrics & a Great New Tool

Comfy Flannel from AE Nathan is just wonderful stuff! It comes in great colors and fun designs and sells for an extremely reasonable price of $5.99 per yard. Loads of new prints just arrived in our stores and since flannel is a year round fabric here in the Pacific Northwest, I thought I'd show you a few. I put the top group together with younger children in mind, but feel free to make yourself something fun, too! For the lower group, I picked a few prints for your more sophisticated adult side. And this is just a taste! Available at all our stores - come on in while the selection is at it's best!

We were thrilled to find this stunning Asian collection in black and white as well as red and white! I can see this coordinating with all the Asian lovelies in your collection and, of course, they look amazing used together, too. Isn't the Geisha fabric gorgeous?! Looks like it's time to get the fabric paints out for this one. Oh, my, that could be cool on any of the black and whites. Are you inspired now? You'll find Silhouettes from Northcott Fabrics right now at our Bremerton, Everett, Northgate and Puyallup stores (coming soon to Bellevue).

Stroll down the avenue with me - Park Avenue that is - our latest collection from Moda! I love the traditional floral feel of this group and the coordinates are so universally appealing. We chose three colorways, Blues, Reds and Browns that should easily blend with everyone's favorite color palettes. You'll find Park Avenue at our Bellevue, Everett, Northgate and Puyallup stores.

I know it's Summer, but this fabulous Fall themed collection is just too gorgeous to resist! And if you start sewing now, you'll have something ready for Fall, right? All About Autumn from Northcott is a leafy delight of gentle hues in beige, black and brown. It's such a nice change from the traditional Fall colors, that I'm sure you'll be bursting with ideas for a new Autumn look in your home! Available at our Everett, Northgate and Puyallup stores and coming soon to Bellevue.

I promised you a new tool, so get ready to twist and shout! Twister from Country Schoolhouse opens up so many possibilities for easy pinwheel quilting. Michelle from our office used the smaller size to make the sweet table topper below from charm squares and you'll find lots of ideas in the Let's Twist book (placemats, runners, toppers, quilts, pillows and a mantle topper).  Both the book and the tools are available at all our stores.

The Twister tool comes in two sizes. You'll find a table topper pattern in the Lil' Twister package (like Michelle's shown at the right) and a quiilt pattern in the instructions that come with the large Twister tool. So how does it work? Piece squares and borders together, then line up your tool according to the easy to follow instructions, re-cut, re-sew and suddenly you have twisty, turny pinwheels and instant satisfaction. Tons of fun for quilters of all levels!

We do LOVE our Batiks and I know you all do, too. This week, Enchanted Journey Batiks from Avlyn arrived at all our stores (except Outlet on 4th) and they are incredibly beautiful! The marvelous Aztec style designs really will enchant you. Hurry in - these won't last long,

Available ONLY at our Northgate store, but so cool that I wanted you all to see! Peaceful Planet from Studio E designs celebrates the ground beneath our feet and the joy we can find being it's caretakers. Yummy prints in modern colors fit for quilting, totes or a fab summer skirt!

Oh, my goodness I love this! Early Bird is perky and bright, will make you smile and be wonderful kitchen decor! Pick up a yard or two of the repeating stripe shown (top), then grab several of the yummy-fresh coordinates to go with. Designed by the scrapbooking company, Cosmo Cricket, it's a great recipe for instant style from Andover Fabrics. Available at our Bellevue, Everett, Northgate & Puyallup stores.

Quilters, I know you love Andover's Dimples and now we've got flannels for you! The four shown above are just a taste of the cozy colors that recently arrived at our Northgate and Puyallup stores. Check it out!

It's almost time for our Christmas in July Cafe events and holiday fabrics are pouring in the doors. This week's new addition is Makin' New Friends from Moda. A colorful snowman-ful collection with so much possibility. Use the panel for a fun 'cheater' quilt or start piecing around those smiling blocks with the lovely coordinates (a few shown here). Looks like it would be a great apron or tablerunner, too. Available at all our stores (except Outlet on 4th) and you can pick up tickets for Christmas in July while you're there!

Fashion Diva Heaven - New Knits, Lace & Designer Fabrics

Sophia Double Knit from Logantex is one of my favorite fashion fabrics. It's a great bottom weight that is equally attractive as a dress or top. We carry lots of scrumptious colors and just received six new shades at our Everett, Bellevue, Northgate and Puyallup stores. I LOVE the names! Clockwise from top: Denim, Golden, Hot Sauce, Sangria, Spanish Olive, Tarragon.

Enchanting Lace, also from Logantex, comes in brilliant fashion colors that you'll want to keep in your stash. Great for everything from lingerie to party dresses, it's 100% Nylon and you'll find it at our Bellevue, Everett, Northgate and Puyallup stores.

A few weeks ago, the Outlet on 4th unpacked four big boxes of rolled Designer Fabrics from Ann Taylor, Chico's and White House Black Market (WHBM). It went quickly at just $9.99 per yard, but now there's more! Hurry and you can have first pick from the four boxes we just put out today (at the Outlet on 4th only). Buy the whole roll and the price drops to $8.99 per yard. Fashion bliss!

Kids, The Northwest, Dad & Christmas - New Fabrics for Everyone This Week!

One Bizillion BC! Freshly arrived from RJR Fabrics at our Everett, Bellevue, Northgate and Puyallup stores. The cheerful bright dinosaur panel and bursting with fun border stripe paired with our cool coordinates will be sure to delight the dino lover in your life.

Love the Northwest and all things forest? Although the gorgeous collection of RJR Fabrics above is called Autumn Sunset, it's perfect for any time of year here in the Pacific Northwest. The stunning block panel can stand on it's own as a quilt focal point, be cut into pillow fronts or adorn a tote bag. Add the softly falling leaves as a crowning touch! Available at our Everett, Bellevue, Northgate and Puyallup stores now and coming soon to Bremerton.

Okay, Northwest lovers - come and get your fabric! In addition to RJR's cool North by Northwest Postacrds fabric (top) and our very own 'can't get it anywhere else' Washington fabric from In the Beginning (bottom), we just received Northwest Road Trip from RJR, too. Designed by Lynette Jensen, this is a fabulous fabric with a wonderful vintage feel to it's design. Wouldn't Dad love boxers, an apron or cushions for the man cave out of this??? And speaking of Dad . . . if he's a car or fix-it guy, we've got the perfect collection for a quick Father's Day gift sewing session. Be A Man from Free Spirit fabric designed by artist Douglas Day captures the essence of all things traditionally known as manly, but tool toting women will want to help themselves to some of these vibrantly colored prints, too. We're gearing up for our annual Christmas in July Cafe event at all our stores (except Outlet on 4th), so I thought you'd enjoy seeing two new Christmas prints hot off the truck. Tidings from Benartex echoes everything you've come to love in the wonderful Art to Heart books. Even if you're not a quilter, you'll enjoy using the Tidings of Great Joy panel (top left) and the Nativity figures (top center) that come on the panel. A fun, easy sew project for you and the kids. Quilters will find lots of holiday inspiration in the whole collection! Available at all our stores (except Outlet on 4th). P.S. On the first day of Christmas, Moda brought to me . . . a collection of beautiful flannel and cotton! The 12 Days of Christmas artfully blends traditional holiday colors with a touch of modern flair. On the top row, you'll see our three flannels and the bottom two rows showcase the cotton prints from the collection. You'll love them all! Available at Everett, Bellevue, Northgate and Puayllup.

Tie-Dye Kits for Summer

Just in! Fabulous new Jewel-Tone colors of Jacquard Tye-Dye Kits! Left to right above: Amber, Ruby, Amethyst, Sapphire, Emerald & Onyx. Each kit contains all the supplies (even gloves) and dyes you need to make up to 2 cool two tone tie-dye shirts (Sapphire & Ruby shown at right). But think beyond shirts, too! Tie-Dye is fun to do on any simple piece of clothing, pillow case or even a curtain valance. Be sure to check the directions to see what kind of fabrics work best with the dyes, then off you go into Tie-Dye heaven. A good creative weekend project for you and/or supervised kids. NEW RELEASE Hoffman Bali Batiks

Ever-wonderful Hoffman just sent us an amazing array of new Bali Batiks. You've got to come in and see these - they are just gorgeous!!! I picked just a few to show you here, but you'll find about 40 new designs and colors at all our stores except Everett (coming next week) and Outlet on 4th. Enjoy!
